THE INDUSTRIAL SIGNIFICANCE OF GROUNDWATER AND DIRECTIONS FOR ITS UTILIZATION
Keywords:
groundwater, industry, water supply, aquifer, water quality, rational use of resources, monitoring, recirculating water.Abstract
The article analyzes the economic and technological significance of groundwater in industrial sectors, the primary directions of its utilization, and issues regarding resource conservation. The analysis reveals that groundwater is a vital resource for manufacturing, cooling, washing, mineral extraction and processing, the energy sector, and the production of mineral and drinking water. At the same time, it is shown that setting water withdrawal volumes beyond hydrogeological capacities, the risk of contamination, and the insufficient development of water reuse systems pose threats to the long-term water supply of the industry.
