This article notes that information technologies are widely used in
pedagogy as a science, as well as directly in the practice of the educational process. They are most widespread in such activities as distance learning, the establishment of online educational institutions (mainly abroad), assistance in the education management system, the creation of programs and virtual textbooks in various subjects, searching the Internet for information for the educational process, computer testing knowledge of students, the creation of electronic libraries, the formation of a unified scientific electronic environment, the publication of virtual magazines and newspapers on pedagogical topics, holding teleconferences, expanding international cooperation in the field of Internet education.
