Proverbs are concise, culturally embedded expressions that convey
collective wisdom, social values, and common truths. They constitute a significant object of
linguistic research across various subfields such as semantics, cognitive linguistics, and
linguacultural. This article examines proverbs from a linguistic perspective, focusing on
their definitions, linguistic features, cultural significance, and research methodologies. By
integrating theoretical insights and contemporary approaches, the study highlights the
multifaceted nature of proverbs and their importance in understanding language, culture,
and cognition.
