THE ROLE OF WARMING UP ACTIVITIES IN A LANGUAGE CLASSROOM
Abstract
Warm-up activities in language classrooms are not mere preparatory
exercises; rather, they serve as dynamic catalysts that breathe life into the teaching
environment. Beyond conventional icebreakers, these activities play a pivotal role in
capturing students' attention, activating prior knowledge, and creating a positive learning
atmosphere. This article explores the multifaceted purposes of warm-up activities,
emphasizing their role in fostering engagement, building confidence, enhancing
communication skills, and optimizing time efficiency in language instruction.
