Abstract

This thesis highlights the ecological significance of the Todakol Reservoir as a habitat for waterbirds. Based on scientific literature, it analyzes the role of the reservoir’s hydrological characteristics, aquatic and riparian vegetation, food resources, and natural habitats in supporting bird populations. It also examines the importance of the Todakol Reservoir as a site for waterbirds to feed, rest, overwinter, and stop during seasonal migration. The potential effects of fluctuations in water levels, water pollution, habitat loss, and other human-related factors on the living conditions of waterbirds are discussed. Based on an analysis of existing scientific sources, the thesis outlines ecological approaches to conserving the reservoir’s biodiversity, protecting natural habitats, and conducting long-term monitoring of waterbirds.
