THE EFFECT OF SECOND CROPS ON THE GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF WINTER WHEAT

The article discusses the growth and development of catch crops following winter wheat and their relationship with the yield of the next winter wheat crop under saline meadow-alluvial soils in Bukhara region. The plant-science framing emphasizes crop biology, growing-season duration, yield components, and the role of crop choice in crop sequence. Field data show an average millet grain yield of 26.5 centners per hectare; winter wheat following catch crops yielded 3.9–10.8 centners per hectare more than the control, depending on the preceding crop.
