Abstract

The abstract reviews current standards for evaluating asthma control based on GINA guidelines. It contrasts clinical control (symptom frequency, rescue medication use) with future risk reduction (preventing exacerbations and lung function decline). The paper discusses the transition from fixed dosing to adjustable "SMART" therapy and the importance of patient/parent education in achieving long-term stability.
