Metabolik assotsirlangan jigar yog‘li kasalliklari metabolik buzilishlar fonida rivojlanadigan va jigar to‘qimasida turli darajadagi strukturaviy o‘zgarishlar bilan kechadigan keng tarqalgan surunkali patologiya hisoblanadi. Zamonaviy tadqiqotlar ushbu kasallikning bir xil klinik shaklga ega emasligini, balki steatoz, metabolik steatohepatit va fibroz kabi turli fenotiplar orqali namoyon bo‘lishini ko‘rsatmoqda. Adabiyotlar tahlili MASLDning tarqalishi va og‘irlik darajasi yosh, jins va populyatsion xususiyatlar bilan bevosita bog‘liqligini tasdiqlaydi. Ayniqsa, katta yoshdagi va erkak jinsiga mansub shaxslarda kasallikning murakkab shakllari ustunlik qiladi.
